Chief Executive Officer
Rob joined Edmentum in June 2005, and served as Chief Financial Officer until his appointment as Chief Executive Officer in August 2015, giving him more than a decade of leadership experience in the K-12 education technology market. During Rob’s tenure, Edmentum launched its first SaaS platform, transitioned from public to private ownership, and completed two acquisitions that expanded Edmentum’s solutions offerings. He was instrumental in the development of Edmentum’s strategy to extend its leadership positions in the online instruction and assessment markets and to develop new solutions for educators looking to create twenty-first century learning experiences for their students.
“I come from a family of educators: my father was a high school principal and superintendent and my mother taught 3rd grade for 10 years. I’m constantly reminded of the positive impact they’ve had on the students that passed through their classrooms.” Whether it’s a brief interruption at a restaurant by a former student to say a warm hello to his father, or an e-mail from a former student who still corresponds with his mom, Rob has seen first hand the ability that educators have to make a lasting difference in the lives of their students.
“Throughout my career, I've seen how technological innovation can help people improve what they do and how they do it. With Edmentum, I've seen how that can happen in a profound way for education.” What Rob finds to be special about Edmentum is its commitment to design its products to enable the teaching process, not replace it. He sees it as a collaborative environment that fosters collaboration with educators to help them overcome their challenges. It’s a place where great people build great products to help great teachers do great things for students.
Chief Financial Officer
Jim joined Edmentum as interim Chief Financial Officer in October, 2015 and was appointed Chief Financial Officer and Secretary in March, 2016. In this position, Jim leads the finance, accounting and business systems teams. Prior to joining Edmentum, Jim held a number of Chief Financial Officer positions in both public and private-equity backed technology companies. These companies include Qumu Corporation, a video content management software company; Comm-Works, a technology services company; Ceridian, a human resources benefit solutions company; and Micron Electronics, a web hosting company.
Jim’s parents were educators and instilled in him early on that a good education was an important factor in leading a fulfilling life. He often heard from his parents’ students about the positive impact their teaching had on their lives. “As I raised my own children I’ve experienced just how much students and teachers influence each other in the education process. I have attended functions for my own children where students and teachers have shared stories of how each influenced the other in their education and teaching." Jim is truly inspired when he hears stories of the impact that good teachers can have on their students.
Since joining Edmentum in October, 2015 Jim has been very impressed with the “education culture” within the organization. He sees employees with a real passion to help teachers educate kids. He believes that the courseware and assessment businesses that have been built position the company very well to take advantage of the changing trends in the education landscape.

Dave started with Edmentum in 1994 as part of PLATO Learning’s acquisition of Lightspan. Throughout his tenure Dave has led content development including development of Edmentum’s online courses solution; development of the assessment products; and the ongoing innovation of online curriculum. Establishing an evaluation and efficacy program to measure the effectiveness of educational solutions, Edmentum can now measure the impact on student learning. Dave has also led Professional Services, Training and Implementation solutions and most recently runs Edmentum’s virtual school, EdOptions Academy.
“I have dedicated my career to education, developing innovative solutions for teaching and learning for over 20 years.” A central goal to Dave’s career has been to help drive the transformation from a traditional one-size-fits-all education to a new 21st century paradigm where technology is central to how we accelerate teaching and learning and differentiate education for all students.
“Our people, our culture, and our customers all share the same driving passion for helping all students learn and succeed.” Edmentum is dedicated to helping all students succeed through innovative online technology and curriculum solutions.
Chief Technology Officer
Paul began at Edmentum as Chief Architect in December 2009, overseeing all software development, architecture and data center operations. During this time he led a team in launching the company’s first SaaS offering allowing development to expand and progress its ability to react to the needs of today’s ever changing educational landscape. Paul joined the Edmentum executive leadership team in early 2012 taking on the role of Chief Technology Officer as the company turned the corner to broaden its offerings with the Archipelago Learning acquisition.
“The combination of technology and education is incredibly inspiring to me and I feel fortunate to be part of the evolution we are currently seeing in how we teach and learn.” With raising young children in a technology savvy home, Paul is immersed in and encouraged by how technology can change the way students learn.
“Edmentum is the perfect size, perfect balance, and perfect company.” Edmentum is the perfect size for Paul and his dedicated team. It is small enough to accomplish projects efficiently, yet big enough to make the necessary investments needed to do it right. Edmentum is the perfect balance of great people who work hard and like to have fun, smart leaders who lead with purpose, and an organization built on efficiencies that continues to grow and thrive.
Senior Vice President, Sales & Marketing
Ryan has been with Edmentum since 2010 and has spent his entire career in education. He began in the organization heading the marketing team, then went on to lead multiple segments of the sales organization and most recently was appointed Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing. In his current role, he focuses on creating an end-to-end customer lifecycle centered on a partnership. Ryan has a proven track record of producing growth, and his career milestones include launching our virtual academy and introducing the Edmentum brand. Ryan has a bachelor’s degree in Marketing from Hofstra University.
A lifelong learner, Ryan is “amazed at the positive impact technology can have on the learning process.” Growing up, he had a “one size fits all” education experience. School was something he had to do, not something he felt was tailored to his learning style and meant to produce the best possible outcome. That makes him very excited about the future of education and the difference technology can make in reaching every student, wherever they are.
Ryan believes that Edmentum is in the best position to empower educators to leverage technology to truly enhance learning because of how the organization can help educators assess students’ learning levels and help students develop the skills they need to succeed. Ryan is motivated by Edmentum’s ability to make learning more effective today and into the future.
Vice President, Professional Services & Support
Erin has been at Edmentum for over a decade, overseeing our services and support teams for the past five years, and was appointed Vice President of Professional Services & Support in March of 2013. The ultimate people person, she has always held a customer-focused role. Erin brings together all of her great knowledge of the skills and experience within our organization to help ensure our customers are successful in reaching their goals. Erin has a bachelor’s degree in biology from Virginia Tech with a minor in business.
Erin had a unique education experience, spending a few of her early elementary years in Mexico. The school experience that stands out most prominently for her occurred when she returned to the United States in 4th grade. Her teacher, Mrs. Zowel, provided much needed support for her and oriented her into a new environment. Academics weren’t an issue—it was more about the unfamiliar environment she was now in. Mrs. Zowel really made her feel comfortable which contributed to Erin's success. “I always loved learning and Mrs. Zowel provided the level of comfort I needed to thrive in a new environment.” Erin reflects on this as an example of the important role that teachers play in students’ lives. And now it is her job to ensure Edmentum has the right support resources in place for every educator that we work with, to help them positively impact the lives of their students.
At Edmentum, Erin’s passion for learning and for technology’s ability to empower educators and students have a very real impact every day. Her focus is to identify the specific resources educators need, and effectively and efficiently provide those resources to deliver improved student achievement. “We partner with schools and districts to drive education forward. My goal is to provide the right amount of support to help educators leverage technology so they can spend more time on what they do best.”
Vice President, Human Resources
A true people person, Stacey, has been with Edmentum since September 2007. She began as an HR Business Partner building relationships and growing leadership across the organization. Transitioning to Vice President of Human Resources, she joined the executive leadership team determined to evolve a reactive human resources organization into one with true vision. Stacey leads a dynamic team with strategy, focused on building for the future.
“Education has an impact on everything we do in society and I love being a part of it!” Stacey grew up in a family of educators, even having her own father as a teacher in the 7th grade. The experience taught her to differentiate her relationship with her father as his child and as his student, which has helped her perfect the balance of personal and professional relationships in her career.
“I saw a true opportunity with Edmentum, a company and an industry going through an evolution.” Stacey is driven by ongoing opportunities to grow and transform. She embraces change and appreciates the opportunity to directly and indirectly contribute to the future of education.
