Edmentum Releases New Study Island Research That Shows Significant Effect on Improving Student Outcomes

New Edmentum study meets high standards for ESSA research
Minneapolis

Edmentum, a global education leader and a pioneer in online teaching and learning solutions, is pleased to release a new research study – Impacts of the Use of Study Island Practice and Benchmarks. Edmentum is founded in research with over 60 years of curriculum experience. This study is the latest in Edmentum’s commitment to rigorous research and efficacy surrounding its programs. Results of the study indicate that Study Island has a statistically significant effect on improving student outcomes based on moderate levels of evidence.

This new study for Study Island reflects best practice in research that goes beyond product access and aggregate, school level analyses. This student-level study provides detailed analyses of  student usage of and performance in Study Island compared to those students’ performance on the state level assessment.  The study goes even further by matching students based on their previous state level assessment for more rigorous comparisons, reflecting Level 3 ESSA Evidence requirements. Through a series of descriptive and statistical analyses, this study found statistically significant and positive impacts on state test scores for students using Study Island.
