Texas Principles of Applied Engineering A/B

This course is designed to help students understand various concepts related to engineering systems and technologies. Students will identify various fields of engineering and the careers they offer. The course covers the structure, functions, and applications of mechanical, fluid, thermal, and electrical systems.  The course also explains the engineering design process.  Students will get familiar with various designing options available in computer-aided design and drafting software programs. The course also describes how to create an orthographic projection and section views of an object. Students will also learn about key manufacturing processes and properties of different types of materials. They will employ safe working habits to design and develop a product. The course combines a variety of content types, including lessons, activities, discussions, and games to keep students engaged.
