Edmentum, a leading provider of technology-driven individualized learning solutions, announces that EdOptions Academy, its fully accredited virtual school program, has recently been approved by the Virginia Department of Education (VDOE) Approved Multidivision Online Provider (AMOP) for the 2016–17 school year. The latest approval consists of 25 semester-length Plato Courseware courses offered through EdOptions Academy, bringing the total number of Edmentum courses approved to 196, which makes Edmentum the #1 online course provider in terms of total courses approved for the second straight year under the VDOE AMOP initiative.

Edmentum has made a strong commitment to exceeding Virginia state standards and expectations from the standpoint of content, technology, and accessibility. The Virginia course approval results confirm that Edmentum has followed through on that commitment. Edmentum is dedicated to responding to the Commonwealth of Virginia’s needs and has been working diligently with the VDOE for the past three years to ensure that it is delivering not only a top-of-the line education program to customers but one also tailored to each customer’s needs.

“We are very excited about the number of courses approved in Virginia this year,” said Dr. Shane Dennison, state and federal programs manager at Edmentum. “It feels great to know that our curriculum is being made available to more and more students to support standards-based learning.”

Edmentum is committed to putting the best resources in students’ hands by providing solid, research-based curriculum built from the ground up to align with state-specific academic standards. Edmentum’s proven, ongoing, internal process incorporates stringent quality assurance steps coupled with open-ended partnerships with nationally recognized independent organizations, including Academic Benchmarks, Quality Matters, NCAA, and ISTE, who has set the standard for quality assurance in online learning, and has helped solidify Edmentum as the industry leader in standards-based online curriculum.
