Edmentum announced today that it is releasing multiple product updates to help improve the way students learn online, with a refined user experience for EducationCity and a new learner experience for Plato Courseware, Edmentum Assessments and EdOptions Academy. All programs will be available this summer, with simpler navigation, improved features, and a fresh look and feel for the 2014-2015 school year.
“After studying product usage, customer feedback and 21st century learning standards, these product redesigns ensure we meet the unique needs of both educators and students alike,” said Andy Frost, vice president of product management for Edmentum, Inc. “Education is undergoing a transformation in the information age, and our new platforms give students and teachers best-in-class learning tools to achieve academic success in the classroom or on-the-go.”
Developed to offer a wide variety of methods to teach content required by state and Common Core standards, the new EducationCity user experience features streamlined navigation aimed at providing educators direct access to curriculum objectives. A standards map is also now readily available on the EducationCity homepage, allowing teachers and administrators to easily access curriculum objectives matched to state and Common Core standards by subject and year level. All related teaching tools are directly linked to the standards map as well, improving the process of lesson planning.
For those looking to use the new EducationCity on a mobile device, the program’s multi-sensory content has been accepted for use through the Puffin Academy app for Apple iOS and Google Android devices. The app only connects its users to educational content providers who have applied and are approved to be part of its free resource, giving students the ability to access EducationCity’s platform through a safe browsing environment.
The new learner experience for Plato Courseware, Edmentum Assessments and EdOptions Academy makes Edmentum’s award-winning courses and assessments easier to use than ever before. The intuitive platform design brings assignments and messaging to the home page and allows students to quickly return to where they left off in their assignments or view messages from their teacher as soon as they log on. It also brings to the product surface reporting capabilities, which can be accessed with one click or finger tap. In-lesson features have also been added or improved. The Web-based program is mobile optimized and accessible anywhere Internet access is available.
Edmentum will be demonstrating the new solutions at the ASCD 69th Annual Conference and Exhibit Show (booth #1315), March 15-17 in Los Angeles, Calif.
