This research study correlated scores on the Exact Path diagnostic assessment across testing windows (Fall, Winter, and Spring) with scores on the spring 2022 AASA. Strong correlations were found between the Exact Path diagnostic and AASA scores across all grades 3-8, all subjects (math, reading, and language arts), and all seasons (fall, winter, spring). High correlations were also found between Exact Path spring scores in Grade 2 and AASA scores in Grade 3. These findings suggest that the assessments tend to measure the same skills and knowledge, and that Exact Path is a strong predictor and early indicator of performance on AASA across the school year.

In preparation for AASA assessments, educators can use Exact Path diagnostic results to:

  • Identify students who need additional support
  • Prioritize content areas to focus on
  • Inform data-driven instruction and targeted intervention
  • Help ensure that students are on track to meet academic standards
