Career Capstone: 21st-Century Life and Careers A/B
Career Capstone: 21st Century Life and Careers is a two-semester course designed to focus on the durable skills that contribute to a student's success in life and career, such as leadership, collaboration, and critical thinking. Students will create a portfolio project of materials that they can use in next steps such as college applications, job applications, or interviews. In addition, they will cultivate a growth mindset, practice ethical decision-making, and build the fortitude needed to navigate challenges and setbacks. Students will also practice skills such as self-agency, creativity, and effective collaboration. The course will empower students to take ownership of their learning journey while developing the communication skills necessary to articulate their strengths and goals to future employers or educational institutions. By the end of the course, students will have created comprehensive career-ready materials and demonstrated the professional skills and self-awareness needed to successfully transition to their next phase, whether it is advanced education, workforce entry, or career advancement.
