Cosmetology III A/B

Cosmetology III is a two-semester course designed to help students develop advanced technical and professional skills for success in the cosmetology industry. Students will learn advanced haircutting and hairstyling techniques, professional braiding, and the application of wigs, hairpieces, and extensions. They will also learn product chemistry and the composition of hair, and they will learn how to recommend chemical texture services based on comprehensive hair and scalp analyses. Students will develop expertise in hair color formulation and correction using diverse application and highlighting methods. In addition, students will learn about hair texture analysis, training in texturizing approaches—both thermal and chemical—with an emphasis on customization and corrective strategies. Students will study salon operations, workplace safety, customer service, professional ethics, and foundational business practices such as entrepreneurship, marketing, budgeting, and inventory control. Career-specific activities will help students practice and apply durable skills.

The materials needed for this course include mannequin heads, salon tools (such as shears, razors, clippers, and combs), chemical service products, heat styling tools, color swatches, pH testing supplies, and professional-grade styling products.
