Geography & History of the World
Geography & History of the World is a two-semester course aligned to the Indiana Academic Standards for Geography and History of the World. The course enables students to explore how geographical features, human relationships, political structures, economics, technology, and the arts have developed and influenced life worldwide. Students analyze geographic information including maps, photographs, and demographic statistics to describe and evaluate the influence of globalization. The course provides rigorous instruction on reading and creating maps, charts, and graphs to support student analysis. The curriculum is organized around five geographic themes – location, place, religion, migration, and human-environment interaction – examined through the lenses of physical geography, cultural geography, political geography, and globalization and economics.
