Indiana Economics A/B (Apex)

Indiana Economics is a one-semester course aligned to the Indiana Academic Standards for Economics. The course introduces key economic concepts including market analysis from historical and current perspectives, supply and demand basics, theories from early philosophers like Adam Smith and David Ricardo, concepts of value and money evolution, and the roles of banks and the Federal Reserve. The course also examines Keynesian economics, how productivity, wages, investment, and growth function within capitalism, economic challenges like unemployment and inflation, national debt, and global economic systems. Students demonstrate mastery through scaffolded written assignments and lesson tests while applying basic mathematics to economic concepts.
