Principles of Education and Training A/B

Principles of Education and Training is a two-semester course designed to promote understanding of career opportunities and professional practices in the education and training career cluster. Students will examine career pathways in administration, education, and professional support, the influence of various factors and agencies on US education, and effective teaching and learning methods. The course places a particular focus on child growth and development, children's health, nutrition, and safety, and the safe and ethical use of educational technology. In unit activities, students will explore the education, training, and professional skills required for careers in the field and analyze strategies for creating inclusive and engaging learning environments. Students will also apply strategies to keep children healthy and safe and develop foundational skills for pursuing advanced coursework and careers in education and training.
