“We really are able to provide an individual plan for every single one of our students, no matter if they're below level, on, or above,” recounted Dr. Nicole Nash Moody, assistant superintendent of Springfield Public Schools (SPS) District 186.  

SPS District 186 in Springfield, Illinois, is a PK–12 unit district that needed a streamlined way to meet individual student needs across a large system. Dr. Moody turned to Edmentum, integrating NWEA® MAP® (Measures of Academic Progress®) Growth ™ data with Edmentum tools to create plans for every student, below, on, or above grade level and to let learners work on what they were ready to learn next both at school and at home. By standardizing the system with a small set of tools and responding to school needs, the district aligned data with instruction across grade bands.

As implementation progressed, student scores increased, and confidence in the content for math and reading grew. The approach scaled individualized pathways across schools and grade levels, moving learners forward, while giving educators a clear, consistent process.
