Audio/Video Production 1 A/B
Audio/Video Production 1 is a two-semester course designed to promote understanding of technical skills and creative techniques required for successful audio-video production. Students will examine camera operations, video formats, scriptwriting, storyboarding, cinematography, lighting, audio techniques, and sound mixing, and will demonstrate video assembly and editing processes. The course places a particular focus on directing techniques, special effects, file management, delivery formats, and career options in the audio-video production field. In unit activities, students will compare video formats, apply camera functions and techniques, and research roles of production professionals. Students will also examine elements of video making and special effects techniques, create story treatments and promotional strategies, and write safety guidelines for studio and on-set environments.
The materials needed for this course include a DSLR camera with video or a cell phone with a camera and video.
