At Edmentum, Educator First is both who we are and why we are. For 65+ years, that DNA has shown up in our work shaping how students learn and teachers teach. 

Our technology is designed around educator expertise and built to amplify it. It is never designed to replace an educator—rather, we work to individualize insights, then speed and scale instructional delivery, so every learner can benefit from the qualities that make educators irreplaceable. An Educator First approach amplifies educators and closes the distance between students and the teacher-led support they deserve.

From our roots with PLATO at the University of Illinois, where engineers built the first computer-based learning systems and applied their skills to help construct the early internet, to the dynamic classrooms of the 21st century, we’ve learned what works. Nearly seven decades in education means we’ve watched plenty of trends arrive with excitement and exit with missed opportunity, but we have seen just as many durable approaches that add value to student learning and stand the test of time. This gives us the perspective to know that promises must be made with care, and must always be followed by action and outcomes.
