California Introduction to Finance
California Introduction to Finance is a one-semester course designed to promote understanding of the fundamental concepts of finance and financial planning in personal life and business. Students will examine key economic concepts such as scarcity, supply, demand, and inflation, economic systems and market structures, and global trade. The course places a particular focus on investment strategies, budgeting, business insurance, and career options in finance. In unit activities, students will interpret financial statements and financial ratios to evaluate an enterprise's financial position, identify the basics of personal financial planning, and describe social and psychological factors that affect financial decisions. Students will also explain the importance of soft skills in finance and explore career opportunities in the field.
