Colorado US History A/B

Colorado US History is a two-semester course aligned to the Colorado Academic Standards for social studies. The course is designed to promote the examination, analysis, and evaluation of important people and events in the history of the United States. Students will learn to use investigative questions to guide their examination and analysis of events and will develop an understanding of the impacts historical events have had on the numerous groups of diverse people who make up the United States. They will also engage with Clarifying Big Ideas (CBI) lessons throughout the course to practice critical thinking skills and strategies in context. In addition, the course covers the analysis and evaluation of primary and secondary sources, encouraging learners to form opinions while using evidence to support their conclusions and to think critically about the decisions historical figures made in shaping the growth and development of the United States.
