Indiana Middle School US History A/B (Apex)
Indiana Middle School US History is a two-semester course aligned to the Indiana Academic Standards for Grade 8 Social Studies. The course builds students' knowledge of U.S. history from the peopling of North America through Reconstruction through interactive and engaging content. The course promotes the development of analytical and higher-order thinking skills through focused lessons that make complex historical concepts accessible. Students engage with content through guided analysis, multi-modal representations, and varied activities including direct instruction, skill application, and performance tasks. The course is organized into themed units with three to five lessons each, and students demonstrate mastery through both computer- and teacher-scored assessments in a feedback-rich learning environment.
