Exact Path Used to Predict Louisiana Assessment of Educational Progress (LEAP) Scores

This research study linked fall, winter, and spring Exact Path diagnostic scores to spring LEAP scores across all grades 3–8 in math and reading, as well as high school Algebra I, English I, and English II. Linking study results demonstrated that Exact Path diagnostic scores can be used to predict whether students would be above or below the LEAP proficient cut score with 73 to 89 percent accuracy. 

Strong correlations were found between Exact Path diagnostic scores and LEAP scores across all grades 3–8, subjects, and seasons. Strong correlations between Exact Path diagnostic scores and LEAP scores in Algebra I, Geometry, and English I and English II were also found. 

With this evidence, educators can confidently use Exact Path diagnostic results to predict students’ LEAP performance and ensure students are on track to meet academic standards, helping them build the knowledge and skills needed for success on the state assessment.
