Director

Rajneesh Vig is a Managing Director of BlackRock Inc. Tennenbaum Capital Partners, LLC. He is also President and Chief Operating Officer of BlackRock Inc. TCP Capital Corp. Prior to joining TCP in 2006, Rajneesh was a Director with Deutsche Bank in its Principal Finance Group and prior to that, a Principal with Deutsche Bank’s Debt Capital Markets group. He began his career with Arthur Andersen’s Financial Markets/Capital Markets group. He is currently on the Board of Edmentum, BlackRock Inc. TCP Capital Corp. and on the Los Angeles Advisory Board of the Posse Foundation.

Rajneesh earned a BA, magna cum laude in economics from Connecticut College and an MBA in finance from New York University.

Robert Hamwee, Managing Director, joined New Mountain in 2008. Prior to joining New Mountain, he was President of GSC Group ("GSC"), where he was responsible for managing GSC's control distressed debt funds. He also was with Greenwich Street Capital Partners, the predecessor to GSC. Prior to that, Robert was with The Blackstone Group, where he worked on a wide range of assignments in the Restructuring and Merchant Banking Departments. Robert has chaired numerous creditor committees and bank steering groups and has been a lead director for many corporate boards, including Purina Mills, Envirosource, and Viasystems.

Robert graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Michigan with a BBA in Finance and Accounting, and he is primarily dedicated to New Mountain’s credit business and serves as NMFC's CEO.

Robert Nabholz

Robert Nabholz is a Managing Director at Prospect Capital Management and has over 30 years of finance industry experience. Robert is responsible for originating, executing, and managing 'one-stop' financings and direct lending investments across a variety of industries. Prior to joining Prospect, Mr. Nabholz was a managing director in the financial restructuring group of Chanin Capital Partners / Duff & Phelps, a senior managing director in the Telecom, Media and Technology Group at Bear, Stearns & Co. Inc., and a managing director and head of the Communications Services practice at Thomas Weisel Partners.

Robert earned a BS, magna cum laude in Economics and Finance from Lehigh University and an MBA degree from Columbia University’s Graduate School of Business.

Why education?

“My mother was a STEM teacher for 25 years before STEM was even a common acronym. I grew up in a household where education was very important.”

Chris Cerf previously served as Superintendent of Newark Public Schools, bringing his expertise in comprehensive school system reform strategies to a district with historical shortfalls in student achievement. His leadership in the public sector also includes serving as New Jersey’s Commissioner of Education, Deputy Chancellor of the NYC Department of Education, Associate Counsel to President Bill Clinton, and Law Clerk to Justice Sandra Day O’Connor. Chris also served as CEO of Amplify Insight, an education technology company that supports over 3 million students, and as President and COO of Edison Schools, Inc., the nation’s largest private-sector manager of public schools.

Chris holds a law degree from Columbia Law School and a BA from Amherst College.

Mike Lavelle currently serves as Chief Executive Officer at Flinn Scientific, the leading direct marketer and supplier of educational science supply products to the K-12 and Higher Education markets, since 2015. Prior to joining Flinn Scientific, Michael served as President and Chief Executive Officer of School Specialty and he served as the President of the Education Group of Houghton Mifflin Harcourt. During his 11-year term at Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, Michael served in a number of leadership positions with increasing levels of complexity and scope, including President of the K-12 publishing division, President of K-12 Publishers at Education Media and Publishing Group Limited, and Houghton Mifflin Harcourt Publishing Company.

Mikes sits on the Board of Directors at Edmentum and Media Source Inc and earned a PA from Westminster College.

Jamie Candee

Jamie joined Edmentum in 2005 and began her career with the company in Human Resources, before working her way through nearly every department within the organization—serving as Director, Sales and Service Effectiveness; Vice President, Product Development; Senior Vice President, Sales and Marketing; and Chief Revenue Officer during her initial tenure.

Jamie rejoined the organization in 2017, to lead Edmentum’s strategic vision and long term growth plan as President, CEO, and Board Director, bringing her successful record of accomplishment as an executive with extensive experience in education technology, private equity, and policy. Jamie was selected by Minnesota Business magazine as one of the 2015 (Real) Power 50, by the Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal as a 2017 Titans of Technology honoree, and 2017 Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Finalist. Most recently, Jamie was selected as one of EdTech Digest’s Top 100 Influencers in EdTech and she was recognized by the Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal as a 2018 Women in Business honoree. She sits on the board of directors for Project Success, a MN-based education non-profit and serves as an advisory board member for Bethel University’s Department of Business and Economics.

Jamie holds a Master of Business Administration from Bethel University and a Bachelor of Science in political science from the University of Wisconsin. Her ambitious personality, relentless commitment to serve educators and students, and strong leadership inspire her teams to build and implement education programs that promote and support lifelong teaching and learning.

Why education?

“I am inspired by the students and educators I meet on a regular basis.” Jamie began her undergraduate studies in elementary education before shifting to focus on to public policy and business management. She is a committed lifelong learner and has always chosen career opportunities that allow her to both teach and continue her commitment to lifelong learning.
