Algebra 1 v7.0 is a completely re-designed course that offers 100% alignment to the Common Core State Standards for Mathematics. The specific standard alignment for each lesson is visible to both educators and students. In addition to the emphasis on alignment, the lessons in the new course are designed to be shorter in length than lessons of previous versions, offering focused exploration of topics to make concepts more digestible for students.

Practice questions are included with each lesson, including technology-enhanced items and explanations to assist students in their understanding of the concepts. New features to support student mastery include worksheets for practice and guided notes to help students record key takeaways as they move through the tutorial.

Students will explore how algebraic knowledge is connected to many financial situations, including investing, using credit, paying taxes, and shopping for insurance. In studying these topics, students will learn about the linear, exponential, and quadratic relationships that apply to financial applications. In addition, the course will help prepare students to tackle the wide variety of financial decisions they will face in life, from setting up their first budget to planning for retirement.

##### Florida Algebra 1 A/B

Florida Algebra 1 A/B is a two semester course that is designed to improve and assess the students’ mathematical skills. It includes lessons that focus on the graphical representation of linear and nonlinear relationships. Students will learn to create, graph, and solve linear and exponential equations and inequalities. They will use function notation to describe relationships between quantities and interpret function notation accurately to solve problems. Students will study the transformations of linear and exponential functions. Apart from this, the course also covers lesson in which they will create, graph, and solve quadratic equations and inequalities in one or two variables. Students will learn to add, subtract, and multiply linear and quadratic polynomials. At the end of this course, they will interpret, analyze, and build functions. Online discussions, course activities, and unit activities require students to develop and apply critical thinking skills.

Florida Algebra 2 is a two-semester course designed to cultivate and periodically assess students’ subject-matter knowledge while strengthening their mathematical skills. This course includes lessons that focus on the interpretation of polynomial and rational expressions and solving formulas for geometric series. Students will identify complex numbers and apply properties of arithmetic to simplify expressions that contain complex numbers. They will derive the equation of a parabola and learn to create, graph, and solve equations and inequalities. Students will also identify and analyze the key features of functions. This course includes lessons that focus on graphing functions on the coordinate plane, the inverses of functions, and the properties of functions. Students will learn to create and graph trigonometric functions and identify their key features. Toward the end of this course, they will build their understanding of the key concepts of probability and statistics. The Florida M/J Grade 6 Mathematics A/B course will provide students with a deep understanding and mastery of the objectives that will prepare them for algebra. Students will develop 21st century skills as they master ratios and proportional relationships; the number system; and number visualization. Florida M/J Grade 7 Mathematics A/B is comprised a total of six units, all of which include a variety of activities and are designed to provide teachers with maximum flexibility, and establish a solid foundation of math skills that will lead to improved achievement into high school based on Florida standards. Concepts covered include: ratios/proportional relationships; expressions and equations using rational numbers; geometry; and statistics and probability.
