California Principles of Law, Public Safety, Corrections, and Security A/B
California Principles of Law, Public Safety, Corrections, and Security is a two-semester course designed to promote understanding of the criminal justice system, law enforcement, and public safety in the United States. Students will examine the evolution of criminal law, court procedures, the roles of law enforcement and security agencies, and the work of firefighters and emergency responders. The course places a particular focus on Constitutional law, citizens' rights, and the ethical and legal responsibilities of professionals in the field. In unit activities, students will analyze careers in law, corrections, and public safety and assess the safe and ethical use of technology. Students will also develop communication and job acquisition skills and explore career advancement opportunities in the field.
