Career Interest Explorer: Plan in Grades 9-10

Career Interest Explorer: Plan in Grades 9–10 is a minicourse designed to help students plan their high school academic journeys by identifying and maximizing opportunities that clarify their interests and prepare them for targeted career exploration. It combines the Career Interest Explorer inventory with interactive lessons that reveal how their interests can be transformed into goals and actions, leading to focused experiences and skill-building in their chosen career paths.

Unlike the more open-ended career exploration students did in middle school, this early high school course guides students toward creating specific career paths. These paths enable students to intentionally engage in experiences that refine their goals and interests into actionable course choices and activities.

Additionally, the course emphasizes essential, durable skills valued by all employers and applicable across all career paths. These skills include critical thinking, metacognition, and collaboration, which are crucial for personal decision-making.
