Child Development is a one-semester course with 13 lessons that helps students learn about the various stages of child development as well as the factors that obstruct the healthy development of a child. The course covers various aspects related to family planning, pregnancy, prenatal, and postnatal care. It also covers the motor, cognitive, social, and emotional developmental stages and needs of infants, toddlers, preschool children, and school-age children. The course explores health and safety issues related to children and families and discusses parenting concerns. The course also discusses essential career skills, academic requirements, and career opportunities in the field of child development. The course combines a variety of content types, including lessons, activities, discussions, and games to appeal to a variety of learning styles and to help students develop and apply critical thinking skills.
