Utah State History A/B

Utah State History is a course that offers 100% alignment to the Utah Core State Standards for Social Studies. The course offers six units that cover Utah geography and history from prehistory to the modern day. The course includes a variety of unit and lesson activities that examine the history, geography, culture, and economy of the state that encourage research and reflection. Discussion of Utah’s rich history is centered in the American narrative- students receive a brief orientation into national and international affairs and then dive into Utah’s rich and unique history. Each lesson contains multiple student interactions and learning modalities, and every unit includes a variety of assessment items that are both traditional multiple-choice and technology-enhanced. The course supports learner engagement through the use of guided notes, notebook interactions, and critical thinking tasks.
