Virginia Economics and Personal Finance A/B

VA Economics and Personal Finance is a two-semester course designed to promote understanding of consumer economics and the principles of personal financial planning for individuals and families. Students will examine the basic principles of money and economic systems, the role of the consumer in the American economy, and the role of financial institutions and markets in personal financial planning, with a particular focus on tools and techniques for managing income and expenses, savings and investment programs, and strategies for managing financial risk. In unit activities, students will analyze national and international issues that affect consumers, develop personal financial plans, and explore career opportunities in personal finance and consumer services.
