Edmentum, a leading provider of web-based individualized learning solutions, announces a continued commitment to meeting state standards. Edmentum continues to provide solid, research-based curricula built from the ground up to align with state-specific academic standards to empower futures, one student at a time. Aligning courses to these standards continues to be a primary focus, as Edmentum is constantly refreshing its online curriculum to align with the latest academic initiatives in each state.
Edmentum has had a record number of approvals for the 2016–17 school year. To date, over 2,800 Edmentum courses have been approved by state approval agencies in 20 states. The 2016–17 school year has outpaced the previous record year of 1,100 total course approvals achieved in 2015–16. These approvals are a great indicator that Edmentum’s courses are meeting standards across the country in a broad range of categories, with approvals in Common Core, World Languages, CTE, electives, and courses for use with the Advanced Placement® exams.
In addition to state approvals, Edmentum courses have been certified or reviewed by six national third-party organizations: Academic Benchmarks, ISTE, Quality Matters, College Board, the GED® Publisher Program, and iNACOL, all of which have set the standard for quality assurance in online learning and helped solidify Edmentum as the industry leader in standards-based online curriculum. Edmentum values third-party certifications because they validate that the courseware meets and exceeds the highest level of quality standards set forth for online curriculum.
“We are very excited about the total number of courses approved by state and third-party agencies across the U.S. for the 2016–17 school year,” said Dr. Shane Dennison, state and federal programs manager at Edmentum. “It feels great to know that our curriculum is being made available to more and more students to support standards-based learning.”
