Edmentum, a leading provider of online learning solutions, has announced it will introduce over 70 Career Technical Education (CTE) courses for the 2015-16 school year to offer students new ways to explore career options and receive training. These courses expand the depth and breadth of Edmentum’s current CTE offerings, with learning paths in the areas of Arts, A/V Technology, and Communications; Business Management and Administration; Health Science; and Information Technology.
“The success of introducing students to career options through CTE is evident, and our new courses offer even more options for students to explore,” said Eric Swanson, group product manager at Edmentum. “By almost doubling our CTE offerings, students will have even more options to connect with different careers through the classroom.”
About 12.5 million students participate in CTE programs annually, according to the National Association of State Directors of Career Technical Education Consortium (NASDCTEc). Edmentum’s new courses will help these students prepare for post-secondary education or careers with engaging and rigorous courses that cover all 16 Career Clusters® identified by NASDCTEc.
The CTE courses will be designed for use on mobile devices with engaging, real-world content and multimedia that ties realistic scenarios into each lesson. The courses will be available through the Plato Courseware’s online courses and EdOptions Academy, a fully accredited virtual school solution. View the current list of courses to learn more.
In addition to these new CTE courses, Edmentum is also in the process of refreshing all Plato Courseware and EdOptions Academy math and English language arts courses to be mobile-optimized and built to the Common Core State Standards for the 2015–16 school year.
