Edmentum, a leading provider of online learning solutions, has received Florida Department of Education (DOE) approval of 26 courses for the 2015–16 school year. These courses, accessible through Plato Courseware and EdOptions Academy, were approved under the inaugural Florida Approved Courses and Tests (FACT) Initiative, section 1003.499, Florida statues for grades 6–12. Edmentum’s approval encompasses core, Advanced Placement®, world language, and, physical education courses.

The FACT Initiative was created to make available multiple options to suit unique student interests, satisfy educational requirements, and accelerate student accomplishment of goals in a productive and effective manner. Beginning in the 2015–2016 school year, the FACT Initiative shall be implemented to expand student choices in selecting high-quality online courses.
