Maryknoll School will be presented Edmentum’s Rock Star School Award on Feb. 4, 2016. The award recognizes outstanding schools for their innovative use of technology solutions in the classroom. Maryknoll School is pioneering a tailored approach to education through their Mx Scholar Programs, the first of which is focused on a STEM & aerospace curriculum and is implementing technology to empower learning for students interested in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) and related careers.
By leveraging Edmentum’s Plato Courseware and Edmentum Assessments, Maryknoll School has been able to ensure that its Mx Scholar Programs have the foundational design to meet the needs of the 21st century learner and equip its students with skills needed for tomorrow’s workforce. The curriculum for the Mx STEM & Aerospace program will combine flexible blended learning with applicable, real-world experience to help students explore and prepare for college and career paths in STEM, aerospace and other industries.
Maryknoll found that a partnership with Edmentum provided an interactive learning environment that seamlessly combined rigorous academics with differentiated instruction. Additionally, instructors and parents are able to access in-depth reporting data on student achievement and capture real-time progress analytics.
“We were looking for a differentiated and engaging curriculum that could be taken anywhere and not be confined to a classroom setting,” said Stephanie Frank, Maryknoll’s director of virtual curriculum & multilingual programs. “We vetted a number of online solutions based on curriculum, assessments, analytics, collaboration, parental involvement, flexibility, usability, professional development, and pricing. Overall, Edmentum rated highest.”
Edmentum’s Rock Star School program recognizes outstanding schools for their inventive and effective uses of Edmentum learning solutions. The Rock Star School Award presentation will occur at 10:00 a.m. Hawaii-Aleutian Standard Time on Feb. 4, 2016, at Maryknoll High School: 1402 Punahou Street, Honolulu, HI 96822.
