State and Agency Approval

Oklahoma Reading Sufficiency Act (RSA) Universal Screener

OK State Dept Ed

Edmentum Exact Path, our K-12 assessment-driven, individualized instruction program, has been approved by the Oklahoma State Department of Education as a universal screener of reading deficiency and dyslexia risk-factors for the Reading Sufficiency Act (RSA).

The purpose of the Reading Sufficiency Act (RSA) is to ensure that all Oklahoma students are reading on grade level at the end of third grade (a critical juncture when students go from learning to read to reading to learn). RSA supports Oklahoma children in Kindergarten through third grade.

What assessment lists is Exact Path approved for?

Universal Screening Assessments for RSA are Oklahoma approved early literacy screeners used to identify students with reading deficiencies. Providing students with reading intervention supports through an Individualized Program of Reading Instruction (IPRI) requires results from an approved RSA screener.

Screening Assessments for Characteristics of Dyslexia are Oklahoma approved dyslexia screeners used to determine whether a student is at-risk or not at-risk for characteristics of dyslexia. Results from an approved dyslexia screener are used to change or increase the intensity of the interventions outlined in the IPRI to address difficulties with word recognition in particular, specifically in the areas of phonemic awareness and phonics.

Evidence-Based Remediation

As an ESSA tier II evidence-based solution, Exact Path also qualifies as an IPRI evidence-based remediation program. Exact Path addresses identified areas of reading deficiency by providing each student with individualized, systematic reading instruction designed with the Science of Reading.
