Equity in Education: It Matters More Than Ever

Understanding equity is more important than ever but equity is more than access to resources, it is about creating safe spaces, attending to the root causes of inequity, understanding how our own lens impacts our interactions around our academic content and delivery AND the explicit and implicit interactions around social and emotional learning.  Equity calls us to look at the cultural norms of our schools, to go beyond typical disciplinary responses and to support the needs of our educators as they build new skills into their teaching pedagogy.
