Sizable Increase in NWEA® MAP® Growth™ Math and Reading Scores in First Year of Exact Path Implementation

WEBD 35 002 Sizable Increase in NWEA

A rigorous study examined the impact of Exact Path usage in grades K-6 on NWEA MAP Growth scores in math and reading during the 2021-2022 school year in a large, urban school district in the Midwestern United States.

When Exact Path is implemented, an average student who uses the program could accelerate learning for a gain of up to 17 percentile points in mathematics and 12 percentile points in reading on NWEA MAP Growth assessments, as compared to a student who did not participate in the program. Student growth during the first year of use within the district speaks to the overall efficacy and strength of the Exact Path solution in supporting improved academic achievement.

The quasi-experimental efficacy study meets ESSA Tier 2 evidence and the What Works Clearinghouse 5.0 Group Design standards with reservations.
