Exact Path Diagnostic and Alabama Comprehensive Assessment Program (ACAP) Linking and Correlational Study

Exact Path math, language arts, and reading diagnostic assessments yield highly accurate predictions of student test results on the Alabama Comprehensive Assessment Program (ACAP). This research study linked fall, winter, and spring Exact Path diagnostic scores to spring ACAP scores across all grades 4–8 in math and English language arts. Additionally, the study found high correlations between Exact Path diagnostic scores from Grade 1 in mathematics and reading with ACAP scores in Grades 2–3.
With this evidence, educators can confidently use Exact Path diagnostic results to predict students’ ACAP performance and ensure students are on track to meet academic standards, helping them build the knowledge and skills needed for success on the state assessment.
In preparation for ACAP assessments, educators can use Exact Path diagnostic results to:
Predict students’ proficiency on ACAP assessments
identify students who need additional support
prioritize content areas to focus on
inform data-driven instruction and targeted intervention
