Exact Path math, language arts, and reading diagnostic assessments yield highly accurate predictions of student test results on Arizona’s Academic Standards Assessment (AASA). This research study linked fall, winter, and spring Exact Path diagnostic scores to spring AASA scores across all grades 3–8 in math and English language arts. Additionally, the study found high correlations between Exact Path diagnostic scores from Grade 2 in mathematics, reading, and language arts and AASA Grade 3 scores from one year later.

With this evidence, educators can confidently use Exact Path diagnostic results to predict students’ AASA performance and ensure students are on track to meet academic standards, helping them build the knowledge and skills needed for success on the state assessment.

In preparation for AASA assessments, educators can use Exact Path diagnostic results to

  • Predict students’ proficiency on AASA assessments
  • identify students who need additional support
  • prioritize content areas to focus on
  • inform data-driven instruction and targeted intervention
