Edmentum, a leading provider of online learning solutions, has announced it is rebuilding all core middle and high school courses for Plato Courseware and EdOptions Academy. The new math, English language arts (ELA), science, and social studies courses will feature mobile-optimized, multimedia content, and rigorous curriculum.

“We are excited that the new versions of our courses will offer students an innovative and challenging way to learn,” said Dave Adams, chief academic officer at Edmentum. “By rebuilding our courses, educators using Edmentum can be certain that their students have the latest learning technology paired with proven, pedagogically sound curriculum.”

Many of the new math and ELA courses are already available, with the rest of the courses to be released throughout 2015 and 2016. The courses will feature technology-enhanced item types, videos, enhanced graphing applications, interactive timelines, and digital lesson activities. These features keep students engaged, cater to different learning styles, and better measure student understanding. The courses are also built with flexibility in mind, so they can be used for original credit, blended learning, credit recovery, unit recovery, and extended learning opportunities. To accommodate different program needs, Edmentum’s team of former educators partners with districts to customize implementations through professional development and advisory services.

In addition to the newly rebuilt courses, Edmentum will release over 40 state-specific courses and will continue to work with third parties to ensure high-quality content. In 2014, Edmentum offered 79 state-specific courses and had 914 courses approved by third parties, such as Quality Matters, California “a-g”, and Academic Benchmarks, as well as other state agencies. Edmentum will be showcasing its new math and ELA courses at booth #1221 during the 2015 Florida Educational Technology Conference (FETC), January 20–23, 2015, in Orlando, Florida.
