Virginia and United States Government A/B v2.0
Virginia and United States Government is a two-semester course aligned with the 2023 History and Social Science Standards of Learning for Kindergarten - Grade 12 for Grade 12: Virginia and United States Government. The course provides a detailed study of both the Virginia government and the U.S. federal government, exploring the political and philosophical foundations of American democracy, constitutional principles, civic participation, policy making, and economic systems. Students examine multiple historical sources and study the U.S. Constitution in depth, analyzing its significance at national, state, and local levels. The course covers the policy-making process and its effects on foreign trade, economics, and social life, along with market economy fundamentals including supply and demand, and Virginia's role in the global economy. Students develop civic engagement skills and an understanding of how government impacts daily life through historical source analysis and examination of contemporary issues.
