Virginia World Geography A/B (Apex)

Virginia World Geography is a two-semester course aligned with the 2023 History and Social Science Standards of Learning for Kindergarten - Grade 12 for Grade 8: World Geography. The course builds students' knowledge of contemporary world geography, cultures, civics, and economics through interactive instruction, practice, and review. Students develop analytical and higher-order thinking skills by examining the physical, social, and political forces that shape our world. The course is organized into themed units with three to six lessons each, making complex ideas accessible through focused content, guided analysis, and robust feedback. Each lesson includes direct instruction, skill application, performance tasks, and assessments in a feedback-rich environment where students demonstrate learning through both computer- and teacher-scored assignments.
