TAKS Mathematics Exit Level

TAKS Tutorial Mathematics Exit Level is a course that prepares students for success on the TAKS Mathematics Exit Level test. In this course, students complete a Diagnostic Pretest that covers all student expectations that may be assessed on the TAKS. The Diagnostic Pretest identifies areas of strength and weakness. Based on these results, students are directed to the most relevant units of content. As students work through each unit, they receive feedback on their performance by completing multiple quizzes. In addition, students have many opportunities to practice and apply what they have learned in interactive lessons. At the end of each unit, a diagnostic assesses the student's understanding of the objectives covered. An individualized study plan is generated for remediating areas of weakness. The course ends with a posttest that reports growth from the pretest for each unit and an overall score.

Course content is aligned to the official blueprint for the TAKS Mathematics Exit Level test, which includes the following objectives:
  • Describe functional relationships in a variety of ways.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the properties and attributes of functions.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of linear functions.
  • Formulate and use linear equations and inequalities.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of quadratic and other nonlinear functions.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of geometric relationships and spatial reasoning.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of two- and three-dimensional representations of geometric relationships and shapes.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the concepts and uses of measurement and similarity.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of percents, proportional relationships, probability, and statistics in application problems.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the mathematical processes and tools used in problem solving.
